On April 18th, 2018, the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care awarded 256 long term care beds to Magellan Community Care. Less than a year later, on March 28th, 2019, the City of Toronto publicly announced that Magellan had successfully secured the site located at 640 Lansdowne Avenue, Toronto. This project was also accepted by the City of Toronto’s Open Door Affordable Housing Program. We have received Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) grants and contributions from the founding members to cover specific initial planning and design costs.
Construction is scheduled to begin early 2023, with the official opening planned for December 2025.
